Excellent aeration and drainage

Washed & Buffed coconut has a perfect structure that easily holds nutrient solutions and thus they are easily absorbed by the plant roots. This coconut substrate is kept sufficiently saturated with air so that the roots receive enough oxygen. In this way, the plants have a healthy and strong root system and develop quickly. Coconut fibers have excellent drainage – they do not retain too much water, which means that the risk of rotting is minimal.

Coconut substrate suitable for various applications

This Atami coconut can be used for:

• Hydroponics - the classic combination of hydroponics and coco substrate. This is a time-tested growing method that gives excellent results.
  
• Traditional pot growing - you can grow your plants in coco substrate instead of soil. Soil fertilizers, however, are not suitable for growing in coco - you will need to replace them.
  
• Mixing into soil substrates - adding coconut substrate increases the porosity of the mixture, reduces water retention and increases oxygen access to the roots
  
• Mulching - add coconut substrate to the surface of your main substrate to insulate it from the hot sun's rays, reduce water evaporation, and balance the temperature in the pot
