Euro Pebbles expanded clay from Plagron is a high-quality, inert, hydrological substrate based on pure, salt-free clay. To obtain expanded clay, it is baked in a furnace until the characteristic granules are formed. Plagron's expanded clay comes washed and ready to use, but we and the manufacturer advise washing it after shipping.

Application of expanded clay

Euro Pebbles have a wide range of applications and are suitable for different cultivation methods.

They are an ideal substrate for hydroponic recirculation systems because they do not change the pH value of the nutrient solution. The gardener has complete control. Expanded clay will not deposit organic particles and therefore will not clog or contaminate the components of your hydroponic system.

Expanded clay is very suitable for a drainage layer when growing in soil, as it has a high capacity to absorb oxygen, providing excellent water drainage. Thus, the roots of the plant have access to larger amounts of oxygen, and the excess water is not retained at the bottom of the pot.

Price of expanded clay

Keramzite is a substrate that can be used repeatedly. After each harvest, it can be washed, sterilized and prepared for new use. You can expect to use Plagron clay for 5 - 10 years.
