Ideal substrate for orchids
Orchid Focus Repotting Mix soil is based on orchid bark and coconut fiber, a composition widely used among orchid growers in the Netherlands.
This substrate is characterized by excellent drainage, contributes to air and moisture balance and is ideal for the most popular orchids and hybrids.
When should I transplant my orchid into a new substrate?
Orchids should be repotted every two years after the flowering phase.
One of the signs that it's time to change the substrate is that the roots are sticking out of the pot or the bark is falling apart.
How to transplant the orchid into new soil
- Carefully remove the orchid from the pot and separate the roots from the substrate
- Trim off any rotten roots (you can use Better Grow straight-bladed shears )
- Place the orchid in the pot with the new substrate, allowing enough room for the roots
- Feed the plant with fertilizer. For best results, use Growth Technology's specialist orchid fertilizers from the Focus range: Orchid Focus Grow , Orchid Focus Bloom , Orchid Focus Ultra , Orchid Myst, Orchid Focus Drip Feeders , Orchid Focus Pour and Grow
